Common questions

How do I get started?

Sign up at rental.lavaloop.app, complete a quick Stripe Connect onboarding for identity verification, then add your first property. The whole setup takes under 10 minutes.

How does rent collection work?

You create a rent charge for a unit. Your tenant pays through the app via ACH or Apple Pay. Stripe processes the payment and deposits into your bank account. You get notified instantly.

What does the 1.5% cover?

The 1.5% platform fee covers the Lava Loop service — secure payment processing, maintenance tracking, messaging, announcements, and reports. Stripe processing fees are separate and paid by the tenant.

How do tenants pay?

Tenants pay through their own Lava Loop portal at lavaloop.app. ACH bank transfer is the default — low cost and capped at $5 per payment. Apple Pay is also available as a premium option.

Is my financial data secure?

Yes. Payments are processed entirely by Stripe, a PCI-compliant processor. We never store bank details or card numbers. Stripe also handles your identity verification and payouts.
